U-Pick Sweet Peaches
We specialize in tree-ripened, fresh, sweet, juicy peaches and we invite you and your family to create some family memories of picking that perfect peach off the tree and experiencing the delight of that first bite with juice dripping down your face and arm! Enjoy the beauty of our farm as we drive you to the ripest peaches on our free hayrides. Peach trees can be picked easily from the ground, so no ladders are needed.
Peach Varieties available for U-Pick:
-
RED HAVEN - August 7 - 14 - This variety was released in the 1950's in South Haven, Michigan at the Michigan State Peach Breeding Program. It was the best variety for the time but the newer varieties are very much improved in flesh quality and flavor. Red Haven is still the most planted peach in Michigan because of customer recognition. It is a semi-cling peach, meaning the pit does stick to the flesh if not completely ripe on most years, which can make canning more difficult.
-
STARFIRE - August 7 - 20 - A superior firm flesh peach that is great for fresh eating, canning, freezing and baking. The beautiful 80% red skin peach stores well in the refrigerator so you can be eating fresh peaches for 2 weeks if you wish. Starfire has a great, sweet peach flavor and is a true freestone (it does come off the pit). The size is large (2 1/2" to 2 3/4"). The first great overall peach of the season.
-
Coralstar August 14-21 - A extra large, very sweet peach that is really beautiful and good to eat. Coralstar are larger than most other peaches we grow. But they are still great for Eating, Canning, Freezing and Baking. They come off the pit very easy.
-
ALLSTAR - August 20 - 31 - A very attractive and superior quality new variety peach. Great flavor, firm flesh, completely freestone, and stores well in the refrigerator. Excellent for canning, freezing, baking or just eating. Does not brown when cut. Allstar has 80% red skin on a large peach (2 1/2" to 2 3/4").
-
BLUSHINGSTAR (White Flesh Peach) - August 25 - September 10 - This is a WHITE flesh peach with many of the superb qualities of a yellow flesh peach. Do not compare this to any other white peach you have ever tried before. The 80% dark pinkish red skin over a light pink and white background is just beautiful. The size is large at 2 1/2" to 3". The flesh is very firm, completely different from the soft, older white flesh varieties. Blushingstar can be prepared like a yellow peach as far as freezing and eating. But when used for baking, it has a very sugary flavor, so experiment yourself. Great flavor and an aroma you will be smelling all the way home. Completely freestone.
-
SWEETSTAR - August 20-30 - This is Annette's Favorite Peach and what I freeze every year. Sweetstar is the latest in our Peach Breeding Stellar Series and I think it is the best one we developed. It is the sweetest peach we grow, but is also large and beautiful with red outside, with great firm flesh that is great for Canning, Freezing, Baking and especially EATING!
-
CLING (Baby Gold Type) - All of August - We have several types of Cling peaches available. Cling means the peach does not come off the pit, so you have to cut it off. Many customers love these peaches because they have a firmer and more rubbery fruit than many freestone peaches, making them great for canning.
-
GLOWINGSTAR - September 1 - 10 - This variety is very large at 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" with 60% dark red skin and bright yellow background. Glowingstar has very firm flesh, freestone, very good flavor and stores well in the refrigerator. It is a beautiful peach that does not turn brown when cut.
-
STAR 86 - September 5-10 - This is also a new peach variety from our Stellar Peach Series. It is in the process of being named. 86 is a very good peach for the season. It is large, sweet flavor, beautiful red color and a good peach for Canning, Freezing, Baking and Eating.
-
AUTUMNSTAR - September 15 - 30 - This variety is a very improved Fayette. The large peach (2 3/4" to 3 1/4") has 60% red skin color and a great flavor for anytime of the year, but especially for this late season. This peach has firm flesh and stores well, so you can still be eating fresh peaches even after peach season has ended.
These varieties and more are also available already picked at our farm market, including other delicious Stellar peach varieties.
**Availability is dependent on the weather, so please call ahead to get a better idea on ripening times. Ripening dates
can vary as much as 2 weeks earlier or later from year to year.

This year I am starting a Email Newsletter, so if you want the most up to date information sent to your email, please sign up for the newsletter (after I set it up). This is the most reliable way of making sure the information is delivered to you every week. But now I am trying to learn how to design and start it. It is alot more complicated than I thought it would be. I am sorry but I am having problems getting this going, Technology does not like me. I will have it figured out soon.
